Building human-AI co-intelligence at neosapien. Thoughts on computation and consciousness. Started 2025.

About

I'm obsessed with computation in all its forms - from biological neural networks to quantum systems to the simple elegance of cellular automata. There's something deeply satisfying about finding the computational patterns that underlie everything.

Meditation is my sandbox environment for understanding the nature of self and reality. I read extensively in Vedantic and Buddhist literature - these traditions developed sophisticated frameworks for examining consciousness that feel increasingly relevant to AI research.

I'm mildly addicted to the runner's high and use running to think through complex problems. I hold a black belt in karate and have deep interest in Muay Thai and MMA - martial arts train both mind and body, and serve as practice for presence.

Current book recommendations: Shiva Sutras, Ashtavakra Gita, and Freedom from the Known by J. Krishnamurti. These texts explore the mechanics of consciousness in ways that complement our technical work.

Current Work

I co-founded and head technology at NeoSapien, where we're building systems for human-AI co-intelligence. The thesis is simple: instead of replacing human cognition, we augment it. Most of our work centers around understanding how attention mechanisms in neural networks can complement human attentional processes.

We're building Neo 1 - a voice interface that feels fundamentally different. Not just speech-to-text with LLM responses, but something that understands the nuances of human conversation. The goal is naturalness that doesn't feel uncanny.

I'm particularly interested in how thoughts connect to create the phenomenon of thinking. We're exploring graph structures to model these connections - how concepts link, how context propagates, how meaning emerges from the network of associations. The mind seems to work by connecting dots, and we're trying to build systems that can do the same.

The deeper question is about cognitive architectures - how do we design systems that exhibit meta-awareness? There's something profound about building machines that can observe their own thinking processes, much like the introspective practices found in Vedantic and Buddhist traditions.
